Through the Curve
Through the Curve

Three years ago my neighbour's son started hockey, and we wanted to made some pictures of him looking through the curve of his goalie stick. It was quite an exercise, as my subject was just 6 years old and had a very heavy goalie stick. This time around he found the task much easier as he was 3 years older and stronger, and his stick was made out of a lighter-weight material.

When you live by a lake and spend as much time on the water as the Griffith Family, the logical place for some family pictures is right in your own backyard.

I love how this turned out; even Sawyer, the family dog, joined them for this shot.

Julie is very active in sports, including Hockey and Lacrosse. Since I had never shot lacrosse, Canada's National Sport, I asked if she's be up for doing a portrait session with me... obviously she was game!

She brings this intensity to the game!

Over the years I've observed just how great some Family Portraits look because of the clothing/wardrobe choices, and of the Family Portraits I've taken to date this is is up there with my Favourites for that very reason.

All members of the family were wearing a form of denim bottoms (jeans, rolled-up jeans, skater shorts, and capris) and a simple cotton shirt... they just worked together so well. Great job Deschenes Family!
